Scooby Doo DVDs – The Movies
Here’s a list of Scooby Doo DVDs – the movies. All the CGI animated/live action movies are here, as well as every direct-to-video animated movie released since the year 2000 – and as you’ll see, the Mystery Machine keeps on rolling as new movies continue to be produced!
Our DVD guide begins with the eponymous 2002 theatrical release in its various formats, the 2004 sequel, “Monsters Unleashed,” and its 2009 prequel, “the Mystery Begins.” Then we’ll move on to the frighteningly huge collection of direct-to-video animations, which pits Scooby Doo and the gang at Mystery Inc. against a mob of monsters – vampires, witches, werewolves, and assorted spooky specters.
If you’re looking for DVD releases of the TV episodes, I’ve created a separate page for all of the many series’ incarnations, which you can check out below.
Scooby Doo Live Action Movies
The original Scooby Doo Movie, starring Freddy Prinze Jr, Sarah Michelle Gellar, and Matthew Lillard, is available in both widescreen and fullscreen format.
Scooby fans can get the sequel released in 2004, “Monsters Unleashed,” where the gang has to solve the mystery of the haunted museum. All manner of spooky specters and menacing monsters come out of the woodwork to scare Scooby Doo and Mystery Inc out of their wits! It’s just simple, pure fun! Also on the DVD is a documentary about how the CGI animators made Scooby come alive.
Both movies are available in 2-pack sets on DVD and Blu-ray. Also, recently released, is “Scooby Doo: The Mystery Begins,” which explains the origin of Mystery Incorporated and how Shaggy Rogers, Freddy Jones, Velma Dinkley, Daphne Blake, and Scooby Doo all met and formed a mystery solving team unlike any the world has ever seen!
Scooby Doo DVDs – Animated Movies 1999-2004
The selection of direct-to-video feature-length Scooby Doo DVDs is so extensive, I’ve had to split them up into two sections! This covers the production years 1999-2004, which begins with Scott Innes doing the voice acting for both Scooby and Shaggy.
Among these six titles, there’s Scooby Doo and the Loch Ness Monster, where the Mystery Incorporated gang investigates a legendary creep from the deep, and not for the first time. Also released in 2000, Scooby Doo and the Alien Invaders finds Shaggy and the gang stranded in a desert town when the Mystery Machine breaks down. They soon discover the town has been invaded by aliens!
Scooby Doo and the Cyber Chase is a hilarious adventure. When a computer virus zaps the gang, they end up inside a video game with 10 levels to complete!
in Scooby Doo and the Legend of the Vampire, and Scooby Doo and the Monster of Mexico, Casey Kasem returns to reprise his role as the voice of Shaggy! He has continued to play this role in every movie produced up until 2009.
Scooby Doo DVDs – Animated Movies 2005-2010

Where’s My Mummy finds the gang exploring the pyramids of Egypt only to unleash an ancient curse which turns Velma to stone. Chill Out Scooby Doo brings the gang to another extreme climate – Mount Everest, where they face the Abominable Snowman
In Scooby-Doo and the Goblin King is more of a fantasy tale than a mystery. Shaggy and Scooby travel into an enchanted realm to free Fred, Daphne, and Velma from an evil sorcerer.
Scooby-Doo and the Samurai Sword is a martial-arts mystery based in Japan, where the ghost of the Black Samurai mysteriously comes to life in the Tokyo Museum of Cultural History, and steals the legendary Sword of Fate, which is said to be enchanted.
For the 2010 productions, Casey Kasem has stepped down, and Matthew Lillard (Shaggy from the live action movie) has taken over as the voice of Shaggy in Abracadabra Doo and Camp Scare. Original voice actor Frank Welker is still playing the role of Fred, and has been doing Scooby’s voice for most of the past decade.
The latest release to date is 2011′s Legend of the Phantosaur. Shaggy fans will enjoy this one particularly.
How much longer will new Scooby Doo material continue to be produced? From the looks of things, as long as the series remains popular – which means we can expect many more Scooby Doo DVDs to be released for a great while longer.
