Scooby Doo DVD Box Set – The Scooby Doo Shows

Here is a comprehensive list of every single Scooby Doo DVD episode available. They’ve been listed here according to production date, from the first season in 1969 to the latest season-spanning box sets. Most of the show’s incarnations have been released, with the exception of several seasons from the late 1970s to early 1980s.

As the entire anthology of Scooby Doo material is comprised of 11 series titles and over 25 movies spanning over 40 years (and still going strong), I’ve divided the material into two sections. This page presents the TV series on DVD in chronological order, as well as format variations that include “Scooby’s Laff-a-Lympics” and “The Scooby Doo and Dynomutt Hour.” You can purchase any of them just by selecting the display of the series you want!

Scooby Doo, Where Are You!

Scooby-Doo Where Are You? Seasons One & Two (DVD) (FS)

Scooby-Doo Where Are You? Seasons 1-3 (2-Pack)

Seasons 1 and 2 , shown to the left, contains the original 25 episodes that were produced under the show’s title. Season one contains 17 episodes, from the 1969 premiere “What a Night for a Knight,” to “That’s Snow Ghost.” The humor, running gags, and format that made this show and enduring favorite can be seen from the very first moments. Season two features a revamped theme song, and eight episodes with those memorable chase scene musical interludes.

Seasons 1, 2, and 3 contain all of the fist two season’s shows, plus an additional sixteen episodes produced in 1978. This season begins with “Watch Out! It’s the Willawaw!” and concludes with “The Beast is Awake in Bottomless Lake.” The new background music, and a new voice actress portraying Velma Dinkley give these episodes a slightly different style, but the format remains just as entertaining as it was in the beginning. With a total of 41 episodes, you get more for your money with this package.

The New Scooby Doo Movies

Best of the New Scooby-Doo Movies, The (DVD)

The Best of the New Scooby Doo Movies is a collection of episodes in the hour-long “guest appearance” format. This DVD set is released as a “best of,” as certain episodes were restricted from release. 15 of the 25 episodes in this set include the episodes featuring the celebrities Don Knotts, Tim Conway, Jonathan Winters, Dick Van Dyke, Don Adams, Cass Elliot, and the Harlem Globetrotters. The episodes co-starring other Hanna-Barbera cartoon characters are Speed Buggy, Batman and Robin, and their cartoon adaptations of Laurel and Hardy and the 3 Stooges.

Scooby Doo in the 1980s

13 Ghosts Of Scooby Doo, The (DVD)

The 13 Ghosts of Scooby Doo was a 13-episode miniseries with Scooby, Shaggy, Daphne, Scrappy, and new characters Flim Flam and Vincent Van Ghoul (Vincent Price). In this departure from format, it’s up to the gang to capture thirteen ghosts released from the Chest of Demons, a Pandora’s Box of evil spirits. An additional pair of lesser ghosts, Bogel and Weerd, attempt to foil the gang’s plans. Fortunately for Scooby and company, these two ghosts are incompetent and not particularly threatening.

Pup Named Scooby-Doo, A: The Complete First Season (DVD)

A Pup Named Scooby Doo  reinvented the characters as junior-high school kids and satirized the conventions of the original series. This 30-episode incarnation was successful in bringing new humor and style to the old format of solving mysteries and unmasking monsters.

This was the last series to feature Don Messick, the original voice actor, playing the role of Scooby Doo.

What’s New, Scooby Doo?

What's New Scooby-Doo Complete Seasons 1-3(3pk)

What’s New, Scooby Doo? All 42 episodes of this series which ran from 2002 – 2005 have recently been released as a 3 season DVD box set. Some of the celebrities in this return-to-form series include the bands KISS, Smash Mouth, comedian Kathy Griffin, and former NHL hockey champion Brett Hull. This was the last series to include Casey Kasem in the role of Shaggy.

Scooby Doo Package Shows

Scooby Doo and the Mystery Gang

Some classic Scooby Doo DVD episode collections are only available with the other Hanna-Barbera shows they were packaged with (in their original Saturday morning cartoon format.) The Scooby Doo and Dynomutt hour features 16 episodes from ‘The Scooby Doo show’ (which introduced the character Scooby Dum) and 16 episodes of the Blue Falcon and Dynomutt, the robotic dog superhero.

Scooby’s Laff-a-Lympics Volume 1 is a four-episode Hanna-Barbera smorgasbord, where teams led by Scooby Doo, Yogi Bear, and Muttley compete against each other in bizarre olympic-style games.

The Richie Rich/Scooby Doo Show volume 1 DVD set contains 7 episodes of the early 1980′s Scooby Doo and Scrappy Doo episodes, with animated Richie Rich getting equal screen time.

Scooby Doo DVD – TV Movies

These four Scooby Doo DVD releases are feature-length, made-for-TV movies from the 1980s:
• Scooby-Doo Goes Hollywood (1979)
• Scooby-Doo meets the Boo Brothers (1987)
• Scooby-Doo and the Reluctant Werewolf (1988)
• Scooby-Doo and the Ghoul School (1988)

These feature-length episodes were well received in their time, though some fans today might take exception to the absence of Freddy, Daphne, and Velma. Completists will consider these to be essential videos as they were the last ever to be produced with Don Messick as Scooby.

More Great Scooby Doo content is in the works! Stay tooned for the DVD release of Legend of the Phantosaur!
